Critique

The object that I chose to replicate is a Starbucks cold coffee cup. I choose it because I get coffee everyday and I find that coffee is an escape and a comfort from daily life stress. I treated the surface of this object as if I was going to change the function as a whole, instead of being a welcoming cup to hold there is a hand and fan like fabric placed coming off of the wrist of the hand. My intention was to create almost like a handle on the cup, on a coffee mug there is a handle that you hold, but on a paper cup you just hold the cup and I though that if I added the hand you’d have a sense of confusion while going to hold the cup. The hand is what makes the cup extraordinary. I hope that my audience got a sense of confusion and got a new perspective on how they view holding a coffee cup.
